A few of the experts of PetroTel are highlighted below:

Dr. Anil Chopra is a Founder, Distinguished Engineering Advisor and Chairman with PetroTel. He founded PetroTel in 1999. Dr. Chopra has steered and led PetroTel into becoming a powerful consulting organization with over 75 experienced professionals towards major exploration and production projects.

Previously, he was a Director at ARCO and also the recipient of ARCO's highest technical achievement award. He is a world renowned reservoir engineer and has worked on all facets of reservoir and production engineering, miscible gas flooding, pressure transient analysis, reservoir characterization and modeling, compositional simulations; gas condensate reservoirs, coal bed methane, and water flood reservoir management. He has over 35 publications in the literature in all different facets of reservoir engineering.

He is Editor of the SPE book on "Applied Geostatistics for Reservoir Characterization" and has authored over thirty-five technical papers. Dr. Chopra is a past SPE distinguished lecturer and more recently, he was the co-chairman of Applied Technology Workshop on EOR held in Bali, Indonesia 2009. Dr. Chopra has a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, and got his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Houston under the guidance of world famous researcher - Dr. Abe Dukler - in the area of multi-phase flows.

Dr. Fred I. Stalkup is a Distinguished Engineering Advisor and Vice President, EOR with PetroTel. He has over 40 years of EOR experience on world wide projects. Previously, he held the position of ARCO's Distinguished Engineering Advisor - a highest technical position. He obtained his BS and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from Rice University. He is a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, a past SPE Distinguished Lecturer, a recipient of the SPE's John Franklin Carll Award, Lester C. Uren Award and Anthony F. Lucas Gold Medal, a member of the Rice University Engineering Hall of Fame, and is a member of the United States National Academy of Engineering. He authored the SPE book Miscible Displacement and has authored over twenty-five technical papers.

Dr. Ram Agarwal is a Distinguished Engineering Advisor and Vice President Gas Engineering with PetroTel in the areas of gas reservoir engineering and pressure transient testing and analysis methods. Previously, he held the position of a Staff Petroleum Engineering Associate at BP. Ram has made major contributions to the Petroleum Industry through his publications. He first introduced the concept of using type curves in the SPE literature for formation evaluation. He presented two SPE papers which introduced concepts of the pseudo time and the equivalent time. These time functions and their variations have become essential variables for well test analysis and type curve/decline curve analysis to derive formation and reservoir parameters and are being widely used by the petroleum industry. He introduced the concept of slug tests and also provided first methodology to evaluate reservoir and fracture parameters for massive hydraulically fractured low permeability gas wells. His paper on decline curves and type curves provides technology to estimate reserves and to determine reservoir and well parameters. This technology has now become common place in the petroleum industry. Dr. Agarwal is a Distinguished Member of SPE and is being awarded Reservoir Description and Dynamics Award at the SPE ATCE 2009.

Dr. Thomas O' Brien is a Distinguished Geological Advisor and Vice President Geosciences and Exploration with 25 year experience in the oil industry. Dr. O' Brien was the New Ventures Exploration Manager at ARCO. He has an excellent track record in geoscience evaluations and oil exploration. Dr. O' Brien has led exploration teams in Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria, and various parts of Eastern Europe. Dr. O' Brien also has significant geological and geochemical experience in Alaska. He has expertise in managing risk and minimizing costs in the exploration phase of developing overseas acreage. He has a PhD degree in Geology from Cornell University.
